Richard holds a BA (1999) in History with Nautical Archaeology from the University of Bangor (Wales) and Level 8 Dip (2011) in Enterprise Innovation Program from Institute of Technology, Tallaght. Richard spent more than 10 years working as a professional archaeologist supervising the excavation of archaeological sites across Ireland ranging in date from the Bronze Age through to the post medieval period. Inspired by working in a Heritage Centre Richard started a new exhibition design business, Concept Development Solutions, in 2016. This is aimed specifically at the heritage, tourism and cultural sectors with a special focus on the integration of IT and social media into exhibition design and the interpretation of heritage sites allowing for their wider appreciation. Since 2014 Richard has spent his spare time running around the Wicklow mountains on the History Channels ‘Vikings’ TV program.  Richard has been the senior field supervisor for the Carrig Project since January 2018.
