Heritage Management/Cultural Resource Management Internships

Overview

Our internships are aimed primarily at IAFS alumni who want to expand on their archaeological skills, learnt from previous IAFS programmes. Our internships are based at our marquee archaeological project in Ferrycarrig, Wexford and/or at our regional office in Birr, Offaly. Internship tasks in Ferrycarrig focus on site excavation and survey, archaeological and historical research and post-excavation. Tasks in Birr focus more on desk based activities, including impact assessment, field walking, post-excavation and site visits – teaching skills that are essential to individuals who wish to pursue a career in the Cultural Resource Management Sector. In both locations students stay with local families in homestay accommodation, guaranteeing an enriching cultural immersion and truly memorable experience.
