The Black Friary is located in the town of Trim, Co. Meath, Ireland.

The site is surrounded by houses and accessible on foot. There is no dedicated parking on site. Visitors to the site may approach the site from Tower View (via a pedestrian lane), from the Kells Road (via a pedestrian lane), and from Griffin Park (off Haggard Street).

There are a small number of finger-post sites indicating the way to the site. We generally use Supervalu (grocery store) as a landmark to locate the site. The turn off to Griffin Park is to the south of Supervalu (to the right as you face the store). The site is on the left hand side as you enter Griffin Park, and the gate is accessed from the third turn on the left.

While limited parking is available at the site (in Griffin Park), we ask visitors to use public car parks, so as to minimise traffic around the site; excavation work is undertaken during the summer time and coincides with school holidays, there are generally many children at play in the area, and on local roads. The nearest public car park is *Tower View Car Park. Parking tickets may be bought from the coin-operated parking meter in each parking area.
